Here is the proof to my claim that idiots at our government earn more than $100K per year. Scroll to Table 1 and note the 25% hike in salary between 1990 to 1991. No matter what the explanation or in this case excuse is, senate and congress should work for the people, and not take advantage of the people! It should be an honor to serve the country and not with the goal of making money in mind.
I see a lot of hype on CNN about jobs over $80K, $100K etc without having to have a college degree. How come nobody mentioned senators or congresspeople?
With a lot of the lay-people on pay cut, work share and even losing their jobs, why don't our senators and congresspeople get a pay cut to help our deficit and strengthen our dollar?
With them getting paid over $150K per year, do they feel our pain of having to:
- have budget cuts at school?
- ask parents for more money so kids can go on field trips?
- down size our turkey this Thanksgiving?
- buy cheaper gifts for our love ones this holiday season?
- not be able to see our love ones who cannot afford to travel to us?
- commute further and to a lower-paying job?
- not seeing our love ones every day because we have to take multiple jobs?
- eat more starchy foods just to fill our belly because we can't afford to eat the food pyramid?
- go back to work instead of staying home with our kids in the first few years of their lives?
Do you know that these senators and congresspeople:
- have their own health care plans?
- have their own retirement plans (not social security, mind you)?
- get paid for life once they are swear into office?
Hmm. I wonder how many of these people's children go to private school. I wonder how much is the total payroll of and benefit costs for these people. I'll have to do some research. If you find some interesting stuff, please leave me a note.
If these people are doing a good job, I don't have problem paying them according to their performance. A lot of these people are real idiots (I'll prove that in later). And none of them deserves more than $60K of annual salary. I say definitely to discontinue their pay and benefits when they leave office.
I would like to see President Obama take the lead and donate his Nobel Peace Prize money and his salary while he is in office. We'll talk about after he leaves office later. If he can put these money back in circulation in the US economy, he'll start getting some of my respect.
